Cranberry Trail (3) - Cranberry Marsh Platform

A view of the raised viewing platform. During the summer & spring, you will be able to view numerous birds (including trumpeter swams, ospreys and bald eagles). This photo was taken while taking a break from hand picking cranberries in the bog.

Oh what a beautiful bog! I'm glad I clicked to make it larger! I love bogs and all those yummy cranberries--I had cranberry pancakes with Lingonberry syrup for breakfast today. I used to go cranberry picking at the bogs, but there is none near where I now live. And I love the pitcher plants and sundew and birds and wildlife. Cool capture.

It's a surprise to hear that you actually handcollected the cranberries. I've only ever seen machines doing it. Silly me, I should have realized.

These viewing platforms are great for looking beyond the trail and into the areas around it.
