August Theme - Breakfast

Well it's that time again. Theme Day. This month's daily photo theme is breakfast. Well for us, this is a typical breakfast (if we aren't in a huge rush). Pancakes or crêpes (today it's crêpes) with maple syrup (none of that table syrup or imitation stuff) and lots of butter!!

We get our maple syrup from a local farm (the Matthews family in Powassan).

On the table there is some cranberry jam (the cranberries are from a bog just outside of North Bay), maple syrup (we go through a couple of litres every other month), maple butter (this stuff is to die for...but a word of warning - it is unbelievably sweet....did I mention that it's sweet!!), Tim Hortons coffee (even if we are in a rush, we never go without a Timmys sometime during the day) and real butter (no margarine).

I hope you will go visit some of the other daily photo bloggers listed below who are participating in the August Theme Day of Breakfast.

I buy our maple syrup at the Farmer's Market, and I agree, there's no substitute for the REAL thing.

I had no idea Tim Hortons was such a staple...goes to show I have a lot to learn.

Real Canadian maple syrup is horribly expensive here, but it's worth it!

Love your breakfast photo! My husband had business trip to Toronto a few years back. He knows I'm a big Canadaphile, so brought me back a small box of Tim Bits, knowing it would amuse me. Only trouble was, the box was empty. . . ;^) After that old comedy film of the McKenzie brothers, donuts and Ontario are permanently fixed as a pair in my brain.

Love the pancakes, but hold anything sweet from mine thanks! I can't do sweet first thing in the morning - it does bad things to my psyche as much as anything else!

As for Tim Horton's coffee - sorry if I offend, but can I bring some tea?

That is so traditional and full of flavour, so reassuring that its not all fast food but slow food instead.

Someone brought me some real maple syrup once from Canada - silly me i gave it to my vet, who is Canadian!

Like Sally, I'm not good with sweet stuff in the mornings.

I eat crepes with Nutella, even if it's for breakfast. :-) Best if if there's fresh raspberries to put on. That is truly divine. Sometimes I put bananas on it.

I love crepes and pancakes - blueberry or banana pancakes are the best!

Would you mind squeezing me in in the list please? I did do my homework and posted a breakfast theme photo.
