Results from the Nipissing Riding (Ontario Election)

Sorry about the lack of updates for the past couple of days but it has been a bit hectic, with Thanksgiving and the Ontario Election this week.

Here's a photo of the three main candidates that were running in the riding of Nipissing in the provincial election. The photo was taken by the ONR overpass & Lee Park.

The results from last night's Ontario provincial election for Nipissing is as follows:

Party Name Votes
LIB Monique Smith 13,730
PC Bill Vrebosch 13,373
NDP Henri Giroux 4,135
GRN Amy Brownridge 1,258
FCP Suzanne Plouffe 238

As well the referendum results for the riding (concerning whether to keep the current electoral process for provincial elections or to move to a mixed member proportion system) are as follows (with 189 out of 190 polls reporting):

For Change 8,581
For Existing System 23,032

I am always impressed by the candidates who are quick to take down there signed the day after an election. I would vote for a candidate if they promised to take all their signs down the day after an election.

I like the idea of Candidates promising to take down their signs!

Interesting and evocatively poignant sign! AK!

My favorite thing to see! ;P

Down here things will start to get ridiculous in just a few months... Are those signs effective at all? Do people actually pay any attention to them? I think they are such an eyesore and a complete waste of money.

I was noticing the weather report on the right bar. Seems a bit nippy. But the weather man is telling us part of our area is going to be in the high 40's (F) tonight. Seems way to early for this stuff.

I am worried that the people of ontario made the wrong choice on this election. John Tory made political suicide by standing on that policy that even most of his own members did not agree on. Then as he was taking all the media about the school system changes we all forgot about all the lies the liberal government made and how they have a study out there that will remove all catholic school and make it all 1 system.

So why did all the catholic school teachers for for this policy...oh thats right the liberals only said that they are going to fix the education system.

So we can all welcome back 4 years of broken promises, higher taxes, and welcome the new education system that is might remove the catholic school system.
