November Theme Day - Colour Blue

This month's theme is the colour blue. I chose to take this photo of the original Chief Commanda boat that formerly plied the waters of Lake Nipissing serving as both a pleasure craft, tourist boat as well as a supply ships for some of the communities on the French River. The boat is now permanently moored at the North Bay Marina where during the summer it is used as a restaurant. The colour blue can be seen throughout the boat, from it's smoke stack, window coverings as well as the awnings on the entrances.

Cranberry Trail (6) - Long Walk Home

A young person walking 5.4km along the Cranberry Trail to get back to their ride after cranberry picking and viewing Lake Nipissing.

After walking along the 2.7km long Cranberry Trail, this is part of the view you are greeted with. The sounds of the waves crashing and the trees whispering as the wind whips through is very haunting as you walk along the trail and is just amazing once you step out onto the shore.

And yes, that is a small cabin on that island in the background.

A view of the raised viewing platform. During the summer & spring, you will be able to view numerous birds (including trumpeter swams, ospreys and bald eagles). This photo was taken while taking a break from hand picking cranberries in the bog.
