Old Teacher's College Correctional Services Bldg (3)

The Ontario Ministry of Correctional Services new building surrounds and incorporates the old Teacher's College. It looks great from all directions, since the new building is the dusty rose coloured glass which does not detract from the brick of the old Normal School.

Old Teacher's College - Correctional Services Bldg (2)

The old Teacher's College was built in 1910. In 1973, the building was taken over by Canadore College. The new teacher's college/school is part of Nipissing University and is located on the bluffs overlooking the city.

Over 17,000 teachers have received their professional education in North Bay.

Old Teacher's College - Correctional Services Bldg (1)

This photo was taken of the plaque outside of the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services offices located on First Ave W. It details how the red brick building (which will be tomorrow's photo) was originally the Normal School (Teacher's College).

Tim Hortons 04 - Seymour @ The By-Pass

Another Tim Hortons location, this one is located on Drury St near Seymour Street and the Highways 11/17 By-Pass. If you asked a North Bayite for directions, they probably would tell you its located on Seymour as opposed to Drury.

Skunk Shampoo On Sale - Bow Meow Pet Care

The Bow-Meow Pet Care Centre is located on Cassells St near King St W.

I see from the sign that Skunk Shampoo is on sale this week. The price of the shampoo is not the problem, it's getting Rover or Morris wet and cleaned that is the problem. I don't envy anyone who's job it is to shampoo and clean a pet that has been sprayed by a skunk.

Giving a bath to a cat or dog is not fun at the best of times, I could only imagine trying to do that when the stink factor has been increased 100 fold!!

New Hotel Construction - Holiday Inn Express

Work appears to be almost finished on the exterior of North Bay's newest hotel. In this photo, taken last Thursday, you can see employees from Miller Paving getting the parking lot and entrance ready.

Not sure when the exact grand opening will be for the Holiday Inn Express. They are accepting reservations for after July 31, 2007. The hotel will have an indoor pool and a 24hr fitness facility.

The hotel is located on Seymour St near the Hwy 11/17 By-Pass so it is quite accessible for travellers.
